Been meaning to go to Cookie forever, so it seems, so a night out southside meant that we were able to go along and sample their fare. For £11.50 we received a two course menu which was freshly cooked with delicious ingredients.
To start I had Courgette on crostini, grilled and flavoured courgette chunks on delicious bread.
Other half had turnip and leek soup, which again was delicious, thick, tasty and a hit in this weather. Accompanied by thick slices of fresh bread.
For main I had wood pigeon. Not too strong and tender. Melt in the mouth stuff.
other half had seabass with crushed potatoes underneath, cooked to perfection and very tasty he said. I nicked a piece and the skin was crispy.
Very friendly service, casual atmosphere and the freshest food I’ve tasted in a while. Good selection of wine and beers (even St Mungo by West on tap). A must visit.
